Colophon
Behind the site
We don’t exist in a vacuum nor are we free of influence. We’re all being shaped by our surroundings.
Yet it feels like everything is being presented as an original idea. But what makes something original?
I can’t say for sure.
Admittedly, I am far less concerned with originality as I am with honesty.
So I approach my colophon as an opportunity to be more forthcoming about my influences and sources of inspiration.
Because I’ve always believed that if you’re too afraid to share your sources then perhaps you’re too influenced by them.
Inspiration
- The work page carousels takes inspiration from my friends over at Design Business Company. Their frontend code is open-source which I poked around to discover Embla carousel.
- Perpetualy inspired by Frank Chimero and his ever evolving personal site.
- The same goes for Manuel Moreale and Piper Haywood.
- The /then page was also inspired by Piper.
- The slider on my about page was inspired by Joe Coleman’s very clever website.
- Generally inspired by the work and website of Molly Studio.
- The design of the resume page takes inspiration from Gustav Nordebrink.
- And there is undoubtedly more, that I simply can’t remember right now or have influenced this site subconsciously.
